The government seized property. A clock started.

You have a narrow window to fight a federal seizure. Miss it and the property is gone.

Federal civil forfeiture runs on deadlines, not paperwork. Filing a claim is what forces the government to prove its case to a judge. We track the public seizure notices and show you the estimated deadline on each one, so the window does not close in silence.

How the deadline works

Two clocks, not one

CLOCK 1
The publication window

The notice is posted publicly for 30 days. That posting is the government's formal notice to the world that it intends to keep the property.

CLOCK 2
The claim window

After that posting ends, a further statutory window runs to file a claim. Our estimate adds both together as a conservative floor. If you got a mailed letter, your real deadline is on that letter.
